Kolo Toure, a former defender for the Ivory Coast, has been given the position of coach at a Premier League club and has decided to begin his managerial career.
Kolo Toure, a former Arsenal player, has been hired as Wigan Athletic's new manager.The lower league team will sign the former Manchester City defender on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
To confirm the appointment of the former Arsenal defender as their new coach, Wigan posted an official statement on their website.
The organization confirmed, "We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Kolo Touré as the Club’s new First Team Manager."
"Touré joins the Club on a three-and-a-half-year contract from Leicester City, where he worked as a member of Brendan Rodgers' coaching staff as First Team Coach.
"Touré will now focus on his own managerial career at the First Team level," according to the statement. "Having played under and learned from elite managers throughout his career from the likes of Arsène Wenger, Roberto Mancini, Jürgen Klopp, and Brendan Rodgers"
