Ex-Footballer, Okafor Emmanuel Bags 5 Years Imprisonment For Drug Trafficking

Former footballer Okafor Emmanuel Junior  has been convicted and sentenced to jail.
Reportminds Blog understands that former professional footballer has been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for cocaine trafficking.

Augustine Nwagu was arrested with 1.4 kilograms of cocaine on his arrival from Brazil on September 26,2022, at the arrival hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. 

Emmanuel pleaded guilty to the charge of trafficking banned substance made after he was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The prosecutor, Augustine Nwagu told the court that the offence committed by the convict, contravened section 11(a) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap N30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and punishable under the same Act. 

Meanwhile Justice Oweibo sentenced the convict to five years imprisonment, starting from the date of his arrest
