“I’m sad for him because I hoped he would be in the squad with me"- Bruno Guimaraes wished Newcastle team mate Joelinton joined him Brazil squad for World Cup

Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has revealed that he wished his team mate Joelinton was included in the Brazil squad for World Cup.

The midfielder had been able to settle with life at the St James Park along with Joelinton.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has been able to convert Joelinton to midfield despite starting his career as a forward player.

Bruno Guimaraes was included in the coach Tite 26 man squad for World Cup in Qatar.

Speaking to Bruno Guimaraes thinks that Joelinton was unlucky not to be pickled for Brazil's World Cup squad.

“I’m sad for him because I hoped he would be in the squad with me,” said the former Lyons star, who celebrated his 25th birthday at Brazil’s training camp. 

Brazil kick off their campaign against Serbia next Thursday and Bruno is intent on making his mark.

“He’s a great player who has been playing really well this season.

“He has helped me a lot since I arrived and I see him as my brother.”
