Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up in an explosive interview with popular media personality, Piers Morgan about his relationship with coach Erik Den Hag.

The 37-year-old hasn't enjoyed a great run so far at Manchester United since the former Ajax boss took over this season.

Recall that Cristiano Ronaldo missed Manchester United pre season after he was given permission due to  personal reason.

Cristiano Ronaldo told Television presenter, Piers Morgan that he was "betrayed" by Manchester United.

In the interview that was released on Sunday night, the Portuguese forward was asked about his relationship with the club and manager and he said, "Manchester United have betrayed me. I've been made black sheep. I don't respect Erik ten Hag"

"Man United tried to force me out. Not only the manager, but also the other guys who are around the club. I felt betrayed”.

Ronaldo missed Manchester United 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday in their away trip at the Craven Cottage.

It's unclear about the reason why the 37-year-old didn't make the trip to London in their Premier League match day 16.

"I feel that some people didn’t want me at Manchester United, not only this year but last season too".

Cristiano Ronaldo on Erik ten Hag: “I don't have respect for Erik ten Hag because he doesn't show respect for me”, he told  Piers Morgan.

“If you don't have respect for me, I will never have any for you”.

It was learnt that former manager Alex Ferguson played a key role in Ronaldo move back to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2021.

Ronaldo went on to say: “He [Sir Alex Ferguson] knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be. He knows. Everyone knows. The people who don’t see that… it’s because they don’t want to see; they are blind.”

“Nothing has changed here since Sir Alex left. When I decided to return to Manchester United, I followed my heart".

"Sir Alex Ferguson said to me: ‘It’s impossible for you to come to Manchester City!’ And I said: ‘Ok, Boss’".
