PSG star Lionel Messi names Pep Guardiola as "best manager" he played with in his career

Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi has revealed the manager he has worked with so far in his playing career. 


Messi who is 35 years old is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club, PSG.

The former Barcelona star named Pep Guardiola, who is current manager of Manchester City as his best coach.

If you recall that Messi enjoyed a great partnership with Guardiola at Camp Nou  between 2008 and 2012.

The PSG star said that everything Guardiola planned always ended up happening.
Messi said, “Pep is the best coach I have ever had. Everything he planned always ended up happening."

During this era, Lionel Messi won three LaLiga titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies, with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.

Messi added Guardiola has good communication skills with his team, he said: “He’s special in the way he sees things, prepares for matches and communicates.” 

Lionel Messi who is a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, netted 211 goals and registered 94 assists in 219 matches under while he played with Pep Guardiola.

The Argentine concluded, “Guardiola did a lot of harm to football, too, because it seemed too easy, so simple that everyone wanted to copy it.”

Pep Guardiola left Barcelona at the end of the 2011-12 campaign to Bayern Munich in Bundesliga where he spent three seasons before he moved to Premier League side, Manchester City. 

While Messi left Barcelona in 2021 after his contract expired to sign for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
