Sadio Mane undergoes successful surgery as he misses World Cup in Qatar

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Sadio Mane underwent a successful surgery after his suffered an injury that ruled him out of the World Cup break. 

The 30 years old will miss the FIFA competition in Qatar after he wasn't able to recover from the injury. 

Senegal will face Netherlands in their opening game on Monday next week. 

Sadio Mané has started his rehabilitation in Munich in order to recover ahead of the second half of the season. 

Bayern Munich confirmed that Sadio Mane, "underwent successful surgery this evening where a ruptured tendon was reattached to the head of the right fibula."
