Arsenal's boss Mikel Arteta has shared his thoughts on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang comment about scoring against his former club.

The Gunners travel to the Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon to face Chelsea in the London derby.

Arsenal are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table after match day 13.

Speaking ahead of the game, Aubameyang has sent warning to Arsenal defenders stating that he's ready to score against his former team.

Aubameyang was caught on camera after he appeared in a BT Sport promo saying: “Arsenal, nothing personal. I'm back, I'm blue, I'm ready. Let's go.”

Recall that Aubameyang returned to England after he left Barcelona this summer. The 33-year-old striker completed his move to Chelsea for fee in region of 12m pounds.

The 33-year-old has so far scored three goals in 12 appearances across all competitions for the Blues this season.

Arsenal coach Arteta says that it's normal for players to make such comments especially when they are facing their former team.

He told reporters: “You expect players to do that.

“If you ask any of our players how they feel about where they are, they will say the same.”

This is the first time that Aubameyang will play against the Gunners since leaving the club for Barcelona in January after he fell out with coach Mikel Arteta.

Aubameyang was stripped off the captain armband after his disciplinary issue with Arteta.
The former Dortmund star was frozen out of the team which made him loose his place in Arteta team.

In the January window, Aubameyang agreed to terminate his contract with Arsenal to join Barcelona on a free transfer.

Meanwhile Mikel Arteta said in his response that he is aware of the threat posed by his former skipper.

“We made decisions. We discussed things and we made a clear decision between all of us," Arteta added.

"You know, if Auba's got something it's the ability to put the ball in the back of the net and he's going to be doing that [until] the day that he decides he's had enough of football."
