Former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has raised reactions with his gesture after winning the Golden glove award.

The 30 years old Argentine shot stopper was picked as the winner for goalkeeper of the tournament.

Lionel Messi guided Argentina to an unexpected World Cup triumph by defeating the reigning champions France 4-2 on penalties following a thrilling 120-minute 3-3 draw.

With fewer than ten minutes left, Kylian Mbappe scores twice in a quick succession to tie the game after Argentina had taken a well-earned 2-0 lead.

After giving Lionel Scaloni's team a 2-0 lead with goals from Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe's quick-fire double forced extra time.

Both teams scored again in the extra session, with Lionel Messi netting his brace and Kylian Mbappe scoring three goals.

However, Emiliano Martinez, 30, was crucial to Argentina's victory over France in a thrilling finish on Sunday at the Lusail Stadium.

But Martinez once more emerged as Argentina's savior in a difficult penalty shootout.

Aurelien Tchouameni of France, a promising player, and Kingsley Coman were both denied goals by the Aston Villa goalkeeper, who also missed a penalty attempt.

But Martinez took the spot light with his pose as he held the golden glove during the presentation.

During the post-match celebrations, the former Arsenal player vigorously waved the prize, a huge gold hand, above his head while Qatari authorities watching him raised their eyebrows.
