Aisha Buhari Drops Charges Against Aminu Mohammed, Student Who Criticised The First Lady

Aminu Muhammad, a Federal University Dutse student in his final year, has been released.

On November 18, he was detained by the police at his university because of a tweet that appeared to make fun of Mrs. Aisha Buhari.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) apologized to Mrs. Buhari for the tweet, which led to his arrest.

The following is the text of the June 8 tweet: "Mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi"

"Mama has eaten poor people's money and is now full", is the loose translation of Muhammad's tweet, which was accompanied by a picture of Aisha.

In his arraignment before Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, he pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the Suleja prison in Niger State.

It was gathered that "Cybercrime, cybersquatting, computer-related forgery, conspiracy, and criminal breach of trust", were all against Aminu.
