Arsenal ready to sign Joao Felix in January as Mikel Arteta side make inquiry about possible transfer deal

Arsenal has inquired about Joao Felix, an Atletico Madrid loanee.

Reportminds Blog understands that Joao Felix has been struggling to settle into Diego Simeone side at Atlético Madrid.

It's been gathered that the Spanish side are considering a loan move for the Portugal international in January with no option to buy.

The Spanish team wants his wages paid in full and a six-month loan payment of £8 million.

Mikel Arteta, who pleaded with the club's board in January to support him, will be hoping to take advantage of the fact that Chelsea and Manchester United have also discussed the Portuguese player, but the figures are deemed to be too expensive.

Chelsea's goal-scoring woes have left them struggling in attack compared to their rivals at the top of the table this season, and they were interested in Felix in the past.

Joao Felix has lost favor at Atletico Madrid and has sparked interest from Arsenal. Atletico paid £114 million for the Portugal star in 2019, but the 21-year-old's inconsistent play since has made it unlikely that the club will be able to recoup much of that.

Felix is comfortable playing on the left flank, where he plays for Portugal and started four of Portugal's five World Cup games in Qatar.

He scored in their opening match against Ghana during the tournament and contributed two assists in their 6-1 victory over Switzerland in the last-16.

In spite of the shock exit to Morocco, Felix's great competition has raised his stock again having become undesirable under Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital.

He has just begun five LaLiga games this term.

In the meantime, Arsenal are being asked to pay £85 million for Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykhailo Mudryk, another top target.

The Ukrainian team has already turned down a £57 million offer from the Gunners, but the player has posted a picture on social media of him watching the Gunners' 3-1 win over West Ham on Boxing Day, suggesting that he wants to join the club.
