Mikel Arteta confirms Reiss Nelson will be out for 'a few weeks'
If you recall that The 22-year-old missed the start of the season after suffering a serious quadriceps injury over the summer.

After recovering from that issue, Nelson has forced his way back into Arteta's plans. During the mid-season exhibition games in December, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were at the World Cup, and he had a big part to play.

In a friendly match on Saturday, Arsenal lost 2-0 to Juventus at the Emirates. Nelson's injury during the first half ended the game badly.

At the time, Arteta acknowledged that Nelson's condition did not appear to be getting better and that the former Feyenoord loanee fell with his back to his thigh, requiring his withdrawal.

The Arsenal boss also provided hint on the recovery process of Gabriel Jesus. The Brazil suffered a knee injury at the World Cup with Brazil against Cameroon in Qatar.

Gabriel Jesus has underwent surgery which was successful and he doesn't have a date for his expected return.

"With Gabi it's difficult to put a time frame because it was a significant injury. Knowing him, I prefer not to give any dates," Arteta told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

Mikel Arteta also revealed that Emile Smith-Rowe is close to his return from injury.

The English forward has been struggling with a groin injury this term which made him undergo a surgery.

Smith-Rowe had a great campaign last term with the Gunners where he finished top scorer with 10 goals.

Arteta said: "Emile is close. He had a setback but he's there and he's in a good place. With Reiss, unfortunately he picked an injury against Juventus and he's going to be out for a while I think.

"I'm talking weeks not days. He will be out for a few weeks. Let's see how he reacts in the next few days. He felt something straight away and with sprinters that's not a good sign."

Nelson has two goals and three assists in seven Arsenal games this season. He has scored twice and provided the assist for Thomas Partey's goal off the bench in the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on October 30.
