Cristiano Ronaldo blamed for his costly error leading to South Korea's equaliser against Portugal as they suffered 2-1 defeat (Photos)

Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticized for Portugal conceding their goal against South Korea in their final group stage match.

Fernando Santos suffered 2-1 defeat to Asian side on Friday evening World Cup match.

Although Portugal had qualified for the round of 16 after their 2-0 win over Uruguay in their previous game.

If you recall that Portugal started the competition with a stunning 3-1 win over Ghana in their opening game match.

Meanwhile Portugal lost to South Korea who now finished second behind Cristiano Ronaldo side. 

The 37-year-old has been blamed for thr goal which came from an unfortunate corner caused devastation at the back - with Ronaldo dodging, permitting the ball to divert away from him.

The goal came from an out-swinging corner which was swung in from the left causing pandemonium in the Portuguese box. Ronaldo mysteriously walked out on the ball and dodged permitting it to skip off him.

Trusting that it could harmlessly skip away, Ronaldo was rebuffed for his mistake with Kim Youthful Gwon, a protector, thankfully getting the opportunity.

The equaliser kept alive South Korea while jeopardizing Portugal's aspirations of completing at the highest point of the group.

The Portuguese was ultimately subbed - regularly baffled having not scored a goal in the game. 

Ronaldo looked frustrated as he sat on the bench. He cut a disheartened figure on the seat as he made two games without indenting for Portugal.
