Manchester City have knocked out the holders of the Carabao Cup in a five goals thriller on Thursday night.

Manchester City took the lead wen Erling Haaland picks up right where he left off before the World Cup break, and he only needs ten minutes to score.
It was a spectacular move to the left from Kevin de Bruyne sends in a cross, which Haaland beats Joe Gomez to and volleys into the goal.

But Liverpool equalised from Fabio Carvalho with a calm low finish from free range in the middle of the City penalty area, bringing Liverpool level with City.

Within a minute of Manchester City's goal from Riyad Mahrez, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah restores parity. Right after making his debut, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is heavily involved. It was his pass that delivered Darwin Nunez, with his draw back met and changed over by Salah.

In the second half, City got the third goal to claim the victory on thr night.

It came after Kevin de Bruyne quickly recovers the ball from Cole Palmer after Manchester City win a corner on the left.

Nathan Ake has peeled off around the back unmarked and heads past Caoimhin Kelleher after De Bruyne swings in a delightful cross to the back post from the better angle, catching Liverpool off guard.
