According to Fabrizio Romano, Enzo Fernandez has decided to leave Benfica and join Chelsea.
The Blues are preparing a sizable transfer bid for the midfielder, who has a €120 million release clause in his contract, and are currently in "direct talks" with the Portuguese team.
However, the World Cup's Young Player of the Tournament has also been linked to other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.
When asked about the rumors surrounding Fernandez, Benfica manager Roger Schmidt told reporters that he would respect the Argentine international's choice regarding his future.
If you recall, Fernandez joined Benfica from River Plate in the summer, but it was his World Cup performances that made him famous.
