Brazil thanked Pelé on the field after defeating South Korea 4-1 on Monday December 5th 2022. 

The Seleaco booked their qualification into the quarter final stage after thrashing the Asian team. 

Goals from Vinicius Jnr, Neymar Richarlison and Paqueta ensured that coach Tite side claimed victory on the night. 
After supporters raised a flag in Pelé's honor, the Brazilian national team followed suit.

The players posed for a team photograph as they held thr banner in honour of their legendary footballer, Pele, 82, whose currently battling health issue. 


From the pictures, the Brazilian supporters in the audience behind one of the goals unfurled a sizable banner bearing a picture of the legendary Brazilian soccer player, who is presently in the hospital.

The 82-year-old Pelé, who holds the record for most goals scored in a single season in Brazil with 77, has been receiving medical attention since Tuesday for a COVID-19-exacerbated respiratory illness. After a colon tumor was removed in September 2021, Pelé also started chemotherapy.

Recall that on Saturday, the newspaper Folha de So Paulo reported that the patient's chemotherapy was failing and that his physicians had chosen to place him under palliative care.

Although Pelé’s family has said he is under no imminent risk of death.
