While some social media users perceived the remark as disparaging Ghanaians, others claimed she was only having fun, and even concurred that the soup did in fact require a straw.
Korra Obidi, a Nigerian singer and dancer, has drawn criticism online for drinking her stew through a straw and said she preferred Ghanaian fufu because it doesn't stink.
This was said on December 28 on Instagram by the mother of two who visited the nation of West Africa.
She uploaded a video of herself enjoying the Ghanaian specialty with a light soup in a restaurant.
She said: “Normally Ghana fufu no dey stink. This light soup na stream. E need straw.”
