PSG star Hakimi apologizes to FIFA president after an angry outburst following Morocco's defeat to Croatia
Achraf Hakimi, a star for Morocco, has expressed regret to Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, for yelling at him after his nation's loss to Croatia in the World Cup match for third place that was played yesterday, December 17.
It was previously reported that the North African squad had unsuccessfully claimed for penalties during the game for what they believed to be a handball by Bruno Petkovic and for when the Croatian striker tackled Hakimi.
Hakimi addressed the FIFA President following the game and conveyed his displeasure with the refereeing throughout the competition.
The PSG player addressed the media after his outburst made headlines and stated; “Nothing happened. I was angry after the end of the match. I went to talk to him, and I apologized for the words I said to him. He is my friend and I respect him a lot, so nothing happened”.
