Karim Benzema retires from international football 24 hours after France's defeat at World Cup final

Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has decided to hang his boot from the national team. 

Following his absence from France's World Cup semifinal run, Karim Benzema has declared his retirement from international football.

Reportminds Blog understands that the French forward withdrew from the FIFA tournament on the eve after suffering injury in training. 

Benzema made his announcement Less than 24 hours after France's defeat by Argentina in World Cup final. 

It was reported that Benzema declined the chance to return to Qatar as a result of a falling out with manager Didier Deschamps. 

Taking to his social media space, he has now confirmed that he has opted to end his international career.

"I made the effort and the mistakes it took to be where I am today and I'm proud of it!

I have written my story and ours is ending," he said.
