Newcastle United have registered their interest in signing Chelsea's midfielder Jorginho who has a year left on his deal.
The Italian midfielder could become a free agent at the end of the season but Newcastle could move quickly to sign him in January.
Eddie Howe and his team are pushing a spot in the top four this season and would welcome the addition of Jorginho in his squad.
Newcastle United are currently in 2nd position in the Premier League table while Chelsea are 8th.

Reportminds Blog understands that before Jorginho's contract at Chelsea expires in the summer, Newcastle United may make a move to acquire him this month.
If you recall that the 31 years old joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2018 and has appeared in over 130 games for the Blues.
However, his current contract only lasts until the end of the current season, and Graham Potter's Chelsea are trying to make their team's average age lower.
It could enable Eddie Howe's Magpies to acquire the Euro 2020 winner in the new year without having to pay their Premier League rivals a transfer fee.
Under Todd Boehly, Chelsea's new owner, the London club has focused on investing in young players rather than older and more experienced players as part of an overhaul.
They may be interested in Benfica's 21-year-old World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez, who represented Argentina in Qatar earlier this month.
During the international tournament, he won the Young Player of the Tournament award and scored twice against Mexico, once with an own goal and once with a right-foot goal.
Additionally, Vasco da Gama's 18-year-old central midfielder Andrey Santos has been acquired by Chelsea in a new £20 million deal.
