"How Pele Helped Trigger A Ceasefire During The Civil War In Nigeria" - Senator Shehu Sani Reveals

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator and former lawmaker from Kaduna Shehu Sani has come out to discuss how the three-time World Cup champion assisted in bringing an end to the brutal civil war that raged in Nigeria decades ago. 

Since yesterday, the footballing world mourns the passing of 85-year-old Brazilian soccer legend Edson Arantes Do Nascimento, also known as "Pele."

If you recall that the Brazilian icon was reported dead on Thursday December 29th after long battle with cancer. 

The former lawmaker wrote; “Pele played in Ahmadu Bello Stadium against Raccah Rovers; Pele played in Lagos. He was reputed to have helped in triggering a ceasefire during Nigeria’s civil war. A great loss. Rest well, Pele.”
