Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, said Kalvin Phillips had the "ideal figure" after dropping him last week after he returned from the World Cup overweight.
If you recall that the English international was dropped to the bench after he returned overweight at the just concluded 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“He’s not injured – he arrived overweight,” Guardiola said last week.
“He didn’t arrive in the condition to do training sessions and to play.”
After spending days at the the gym, Kalvin Phillips looks to be in great body shape, according to Pep Guardiola.
Wednesday's trip to his old team Leeds United saw Phillips on the City bench as didn't play any part in the game.
When asked about the possibility of Phillips playing against Everton this weekend, Guardiola replied: “He has the perfect body now – so sexy. We will see for the weekend.
“It’s not just about just being fit you also have to understand what we want to do, the movements etc.
“So that means, as quickly as possible, because Rodri cannot play all the games.”
