Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has accused Kalvin Phillips of being over weighed.

The former Leeds United midfielder will be unavailable for City's Premier League clash on Boxing day.

Reportminds Blog understands that Philips was among coach Gareth Southgate 24 man squad for England to World Cup in Qatar.

But Pep believe the midfielder came back from the tournament haven added weight.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has slammed Kalvin Phillips, saying that the England star cannot play for his team because he is overweight after the 2022 World Cup.

The Englishman, according to Guardiola, was also "unable to train" because of his weight.

Phillips did not play in Guardiola's team's 3-2 Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool on Thursday.

At the World Cup, Philips only played 40 minutes for the Three Lions, who lost to France in the quarterfinals.

“He is not injured, he arrived overweight,” Guardiola told the media on Friday ahead of their Premier League match on Boxing Day.

“I don’t know [why he is overweight]. He didn’t arrive in the conditions to [take part] in training sessions and to play.

“That’s why he cannot play.”
