The Brazilian striker, 23, becomes Julen Lopetegui first signing since taking over at Molineux this term.
On Christmas Day at 5 p.m., the Premier League team announced their new addition as "one more gift under the tree." Cunha, who will wear No. 12 flew to the UK earlier this week to get his medical and finish his paperwork.
He will join Lopetegui and his new teammates on January 1.
The Brazilian forward could make his debut on January 4 either at home against Aston Villa or against Liverpool in the FA Cup three days later.
Considering that Cunha played 37 games for Atletico Madrid last season, he scored seven goals.
However, he has not yet scored in any of his 17 appearances this season.
