18 years old Barcelona stsrtlet, Gavi takes over Xavi Hernandez shirt no 6

Spanish side Barcelona have confirmed new shirt number for 18 years old Gavi. 

The young and talented midfielder has been handed shirt no 6 wuch was previously worn by Xavi Hernandez, now the coach of Barcelona. 

Barcelona has revealed that they have finally been able to register the new contract of midfield prodigy Gavi.

The 18-year-old had reached an agreement on a new contract back in the fall, but owing to wage cap regulations, Barça was unable to confirm it with La Liga.

To formally approve the deal and keep Gavi from virtually becoming a free agent, the club has been working arduously behind the scenes.

Following an appeal at a business court, Barcelona announced on Tuesday that La Liga had approved Gavi's new contract.

Gavi will receive the vacant number six uniform from Barcelona. He has worn the number 30 thus far this year while still being listed as a Barça Atletic registered player.
