Alvaro Morata decided to taunt Real Madrid fans with his goal celebration during the Madrid derby on Thursday night.

Diego Simeone side have crushed out of the Copa del Rey after their 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.

Despite the defeat, Morata who scored the only goal set a message to fans of the Los Blancos.

After just 19 minutes, Atletico Madrid took the lead thanks to a goal from Alvaro Morata.

The striker covered the 'M' on the back of his shirt as a sign of celebration, but according to Sport, he also wanted to cover the 'o'.

Real Madrid supporters had yelled "rata" (rat) at Morata during the warm-up because they believed he had betrayed the team by joining Atletico Madrid. That was ironically referenced in the celebration.

Numerous Madrid teams are connected to Morata. He attended many summer camps hosted by Atletico Madrid as a child before enrolling at Getafe. He was then signed by Real Madrid when he was 16 years old. Morata eventually made it to the starting lineup before being traded to Juventus in 2014.
