Anthony Gordon: Newcastle completed their second most expensive signing

Anthony Gordon leaves Everton and joins Newcastle United on a permanent basis.

Anthony Gordon's £45 million deal from Everton to Newcastle has been finalized.

The teenager overtakes Alexander Isak, who cost Newcastle £63 million when he came from Real Sociedad last summer, as the club's most expensive purchase.

According to Reportminds Blog, Gordon has signed a long-term contract with Newcastle after the club agreed to pay a base fee of £40 million with potential add-ons that might push the total to £45 million.

In January 2020, Gordon made his Premier League debut for Everton. He becomes the first acquisition made by Eddie Howe during the January transfer window.

Third-placed Eddie Howe's team will try to improve their offensive options for the remainder of the year.

Since 2020, Gordon has made 78 appearances for Everton and has scored seven goals.

Following his arrival at the St James Park, he met with his new manager Eddie Howe who looked excited.
