Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong has made a u-turn as he plans to reunite with Erik Den Hag at Manchester United.
The 25-year-old Dutch international has been linked to reunited with Den Hag who managed him while he was playing at Ajax.
Reportminds Blog understands that Manchester United were in pursuit of Frenkie De Jong few months ago, but the midfielder chose to stay with Barcelona instead.
Fichajes claims that during phone conversations with the United manager, De Jong expressed his desire to join the Red Devils.
If you recall that the 25-year-old turned down a move to United in the summer despite strong rumors, choosing instead to stay at Barcelona.
Speaking at a press conference in the summer, De Jong said: 'Chelsea and Man United interest? I already decided in May that I wanted to stay at Barcelona. I never changed this decision during the summer.'
Barcelona was open about their financial difficulties over the summer and their choice to try to move De Jong.
De Jong, however, reportedly changed his mind after making those remarks, according to recent reports.
According to Fichajes, Barcelona's management is upset with this sudden change of heart because he refused to act when they most needed it.
