Brighton tell Caicedo to stay away from training after he submitted transfer request to leave club

In reaction to Moises Caicedo's request to leave the club, Brighton has instructed him to skip training until beyond Tuesday's transfer deadline.
On Friday night, Caicedo made it apparent that he wanted to depart, writing on Instagram that he would be "happy to be able to bring in a record transfer price for Brighton."

The 21-year-old Ecuadorian has only been training with the Seagulls' first team since the summer, and Chelsea has also expressed interest in the player. Arsenal has already had a £60 million bid for the player rejected this transfer window.

Caicedo has been told categorically by Brighton that he is not for sale and will not be going in this window.

After Sportsmail revealed that the Ecuadorian international was considering submitting a transfer request, the player implored Brighton to let him go in an Instagram message on Friday night.

Caicedo won't participate in Saturday's morning training session and Sunday's FA Cup match against Liverpool at the Amex Stadium, according to The Athletic.

Prior to Tuesday's transfer deadline, Brighton insisted Caicedo wasn't for sale and turned down an initial £60 million offer from Arsenal.
Although Brighton are not under any pressure to sell after allowing Leandro Trossard to sign with Arsenal for £21 million last week, Caicedo has not ruled out submitting a transfer request to force a departure.

Caicedo, who has earned 28 caps for his nation, has a deal that runs until 2025. He moved from his native Independiente del Valle to Brighton in 2021 for a fee of £4.5 million.
