Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy undergoes surgery after fractured finger

Chelsea have confirmed that Edouard Mendy has underwent a surgery to repair injury he sustained in training.

Edouard Mendy of Chelsea underwent surgery for a fractured finger he sustained during training last week, Reportminds Blog understands. 

The 30-year-old Senegal goalkeeper hasn't played for the Blues since getting back from the World Cup. 

If you recall that Mendy sustained a shoulder injury in Qatar, where Senegal defeat to England in the round of 16

Chelsea announced that Mendy will continue his rehabilitation with the statement which reads: "Edouard Mendy has undergone an operation on a fractured finger sustained in training this week.

Come back stronger, Edou!" 

Chelsea lost to Manchester City in the mid week, where Riyad Mahrez scored the only goal of the game. 

The Blues are currently 10th in the Premier League table. 

Meanwhile, Chelsea will travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening in the FA Cup.
