Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, has drawn a £40 million ($49 million) proposal from Everton, who are trying to increase their chances of escaping relegation.
According to The Guardian, the Toffees want to make Gallagher their first signing under new manager Sean Dyche by paying £40 million up front for the midfielder with a further $5 million ($6 million) in add-ons.
Everton wants to improve their team in order to increase their chances of avoiding relegation from the Premier League. In their most recent 10 games in all competitions, they have lost eight and drawn two, placing them second-bottom of the top tier.

This year, Gallagher has alternated in and out of Chelsea's starting lineup. Nine of his 18 Premier League games have been starts, and he may soon find it even more difficult to get playing time as the Blues continue to try to recruit Enzo Fernandez from Benfica before the conclusion of the January transfer season. The 22-year-old could be open to moving to Goodison Park in order to gain more experience in the English Premier League.
On Friday, the Blues play again when they host Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
