Luka Modric spotted kissing his customised chin pads with his family photo before he came off the bench to inspire Real Madrid victory

Real Madrid star Luka Modric left fans amazed when he kissed his customized shin pads. 

The veteran midfielder was pictured with  shin pads that had images of his wife and kids. 

The team of Carlo Ancelotti defeated Athletic Bilbao 2-0 on Sunday night in La Liga at the San Mames Stadium thanks to goals from captain Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos.

The victory for Carlo Ancelotti's team ensures that they cut the distance with league-leading Barcelona for the La Liga championship.

Legendary Real Madrid and Croatian midfielder Luka Modric was seen kissing his personalized chin pads before donning them. Modric started the game on the bench.

Luka Modric, the captain of the Croatian national team, was subsequently substituted for Marco Asensio by Carlo Ancelotti in the 73rd minute, enabling Real Madrid to defeat Athletic Bilbao by a score of 2-0.

After a tense comeback victory against Real Victory in the Copa del Rey, 3-2, Carlo Ancelotti made the decision to rest senior midfielder Luka Modric and Toni Kroos and give Real Victory's crucial player Dani Ceballos a chance.
