Mikel Arteta has stated that the performance of the Arsenal players in their Premier League victory over Manchester United on Sunday caught him off guard.
He said that his team maintained their composure despite being down 1-0 against Manchester United.
Mikel Arteta side bounced back with Eddie Nketiah scoring twice as they claimed 3-2 win.
The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points with total of 50 points after 19 games played.
“I love this personality the players showed. We found the opening to win the game,” Arteta told BBC.
“They do surprise me with how they react. We encourage them to play free-flowing football and there is energy in the team and good things happen.”
During the game, Marcus Rashford took United an early lead; Eddie Nketiah scored twice, including the game-winning goal in the 90th minute.
Bukayo Saka and Lisandro Martinez also scored for each team; Regaining a five-point advantage over Man City, Arsenal
