Newcastle United have confirmed that goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has been called back from Manchester United, where he was on loan.
If you recall that the Slovakia goalkeeper made the move to Old Trafford on a season loan this season after he fell out of favour under Eddie Howe at Newcastle.
Meanwhile, the St James Park who are currently in race to finish top four will need a large squad in the campaign.
Newcastle United are currently sitting in 3rd position in the Premier League table, recording goalless draw against Leeds United on New Year's day eve.
In a statement, Newcastle said that Dubravka “will now provide further competition for Nick Pope”.
But Dubravka has only two competitive appearances for Erik ten Hag's team since he arrived on loan at Old Trafford for the entire season. Prior to Christmas, Dubravka made his most recent appearance in a 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Burnley.
The 33-year-old made the trip to Molineux yesterday for the team's match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he was not included in the starting lineup.
Prior to the summer transfer of England international Nick Pope from Burnley, Dubravka held the No. 1 position for Newcastle.
