Marcus Rashford's talent has never been questioned, but something wasn't quite right during the 2021/22 season.
The Manchester United attacker was a dejected, lifeless, and lukewarm imitation of his old self as he scored just four Premier League goals after two straight successful seasons. But now it all seems like a distant memory.
The Englishman has battled back and is in excellent form this season, having already scored much more than 10 goals. Additionally, he hasn't been able to stop scoring since the World Cup's end, tallying eight goals in the Red Devils' first eight games since returning from Qatar.
The occasion for the celebration was his late goal on New Year's Eve in a 1-0 victory over Wolves.
And these days, it appears like Rashford's initial reaction is to wheel away after witnessing the ball go into the goal before eradicating all emotion from his body and remaining still while pointing his finger at his temple.
It's been speculated that the celebration may be a clue to his past issues with his mental health.
The 25-year-old talked candidly earlier this season about his performance decline in the 2021–2022-season and the difficulties he was experiencing off the field.
Since his arrival, Erik ten Hag has significantly changed things at Old Trafford, as seen by the improvement in Rashford's performance and contentment.
