On December 10, he made his debut for Dortmund in a friendly match against Fortuna Dusseldorf before scoring a quick hat-trick in a subsequent matchup against Basel.
Haller has introduced a new pair of boots to commemorate the struggle that has kept him out of football for the past six months, and he now appears poised to make his first competitive appearance for the club when they play Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
Haller, who cost £31 million to sign from Ajax in July, became ill in training two weeks later, and tests revealed he had a tumor, has made an amazing recovery.
In the latter months of 2022, Haller had chemotherapy and underwent two procedures, but he never gave up hope of returning to the field.
