In order to commemorate his 93rd birthday, Buzz Aldrin married the love of his life.
In front of a small gathering of close friends and family, the 93-year-old American former astronaut married 63-year-old Anca Faur in a tender ceremony.
Former engineers and fighter pilots posted two pictures from their big day to announce their engagement. One image showed the happy couple inside their wedding site, with Aldrin donning a sharp suit adorned with an Air Force emblem and a medal.
Aldrin had three divorces from previous marriages.
Taking to his social media space, Aldrin wrote on Twitter to his 1.5million followers: "On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot.
"We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers".
In 1969, Aldrin became the second man to have set foot on the moon.
He went on the Apollo 11 mission with Michael Collins and Neil Armstrong.
