Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, was baptized on Sunday as a Jehovah's Witness, a significant event for the recently retired tennis great.
The Jehovah's Witness Assembly in West Palm Beach, Florida, served as the setting for the baptism.
Prior to announcing her retirement from the court in September of last year, Serena had stated that she wanted to concentrate on her family and faith.
She is well-known for her remarkable accomplishments over the course of her career, which spanned more than two decades. She won 23 grand slam titles, the most of any player in open era and the second most of all time.
