"Man Utd cannot afford to buy Victor Osimhen" - Rio Ferdinand

According to Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United defender, Victor Osimhen is too expensive for the team.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, the Red Devils, who are searching for a new striker, have been connected with Osimhen.

Although, reports suggest that Erik Den Hag side have agreed to sign Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst on season loan from Burnley. 

The 30-year-old striker is currently on loan at Besiktas, but he's expected to cancel his deal with the Turkish club to move to Old Trafford. 

According to reports, United inquired for Osimhen last summer but were turned off by Napoli's astronomical asking price.

Despite being aware of Osimhen's potential, Ferdinand suggested his former team sign Mehdi Taremi from Porto.

“I would have gone and got Taremi in from Porto,” the United legend said when the club’s search for a striker was raised on his YouTube show Vibe with Five.

“It’s massive money, 100 million, 120 million, [Victor] Osimhen, you’re getting charged. You’re paying big dough for these guys.”
