Gennaro Gattuso, a former coach for Valencia and an Italian icon, was fired after just seven months.
Valencia, who is presently ranked 14th in La Liga, has won just twice in their past seven contests, both of which took place in the Copa del Rey. The Spanish team is just one point above the drop zone and hasn't won since November 10.
Gattuso has had a difficult managerial career; he has already been fired by Valencia, AC Milan, and Napoli. Three weeks after agreeing to a contract, he also left Fiorentina.
In a statement, Valencia commended Gattuso for his efforts during his seven-month stay at the club.
"The Club wants to thank the coach for his commitment and work in these months in charge of the first team and wish him the best of luck in his future. The team will return to training this Tuesday, January 31, under the orders of 'Voro' Gonzalez."
