Besiktas has terminated Wout Weghorst's contract and will receive €2.825,000 from Manchester United.
Manchester United must register Wout Weghorst by noon tomorrow in order for him to play against Manchester City in the lunchtime derby.
The 30-year-old flew to Manchester United to finish his medical because his season-long loan at Besiktas was set to end early. The player and the club have been working toward that deadline ever since.
The Reds will pay around £2.5 million for the privilege of having him for the remainder of the season through parent club Burnley because the Clarets decided not to include a recall clause in his loan agreement with the Turkish club.
According to Besiktas, Wout Weghorst's loan to Manchester United has been terminated by mutual consent.
The Turkish club will receive £2.5 million (€2.8 million) in compensation, as reported by Reportminds Blog previously.
The termination is confirmed by the following statement from Besiktas:“The temporary transfer agreement with our professional football player Wout François Maria Weghorst and his club has been terminated by mutual agreement with the player and his club.
"Due to the early termination of the contract by the Burnley FC club, a termination fee of EUR 2,825,000 will be paid to our Company.”
While on loan, Wout Weghorst played 16 games for the Turkish team, scoring 8 goals and assisting 4 times.
