Manchester United coach Erik Den Hag has revealed that Wout Weghorst will be unavailable for derby against City.
The Dutch boss has confirmed that United have closed in about the deal for thr 30 years old Dutch striker.
Reportminds Blog understands that Weghorst will join Manchester United on a season loan.
United boss Erik ten Hag has said of a January window raid for Weghorst: “We are close. He will not be available for tomorrow.”
The 30-year-old frontman will be welcomed by the Red Devils, but he won't be cleared in time to play against Manchester City on Saturday.
Manchester United welcome Manchester City to the old Trafford stadium on Saturday early afternoon kick off.
United are sitting in fourth place after enjoying a great run of winning streak, but Pep Guardiola whose team are placed in second place will be aware of United form.
The Red Devils have reportedly paid a compensation to Besiktas who agreed to terminate Weghorst contract, while his parent club Burnley have been compensated as well.
Ten Hag added on bolstering his attacking unit, with Marcus Rashford carrying much of the goal-scoring load of late: “Weghorst wasn't even available in the last weeks, it would be a bonus if he was. We have won a lot of games without Anthony Martial.”
He went on to say when asked if French frontman Martial will be available against City after being rested in a Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Charlton: “I think Diogo Dalot is not available and Anthony Martial he trained this morning, so we have to wait to see how he trains. It will be decided tomorrow morning.”
