In the Champions League round of 16 victory over Porto, Andre Onana and Edin Dzeko, a teammate and former Manchester City forward, got into a close-to-violent altercation.
In Inter Milan's victory over Porto in the Champions League, Onana and Edin Dzeko collide.
Inter Milan defeated Porto at the San Siro in the end, winning by a slim 1-0 margin, after a tiresome 86 minutes of play.
Romelu Lukaku, a Chelsea loanee and a Belgian international, was crucial to the Serie A team's success against the valiant Portuguese giants.
Especially in the final ten minutes of play, Inter Milan dominated play and maintained a strong presence in Porto's half.
They had 57 percent of the ball but only 4 of their 18 shots were successful. Porto made 10 attempts, of which 4 were successful, but they were unable to press their opponents as hard upfield as they could have.
Romelu Lukaku's header bounced off the woodwork, and Porto defenders left the Belgian free to race back to the ball and score the game-winning goal late in the 86th minute after callous defending. They ended up defending for the majority of the match.
Despite Inter Milan's San Siro performance being excellent, the match was marred by yet another brawl on the field that almost brought it to an abrupt end.
Andre Onana, a former goalkeeper for both Inter and the Cameroon national team, was seen in viral video furiously sparring with Edin Dzeko in the second half.
Onana became agitated after Edin Dzeko appeared to tell him to continue after a poor pass that made the team's problems worse while the game was still goalless.
Onana had voiced his displeasure to the referee, but it seems that Edin Dzeko did not share the Cameroonian's viewpoints, asking him to keep quiet and continue the game.
The Boznian and Herzegovina forward was then confronted by Onana, who yelled at him and appeared to tell him to "shut up" in a rage.
Hakan Calhanoglu, an Inter Milan midfielder, intervened and appeared to tell Onana to stop by putting his hand over his mouth.
Onana continued to be irate as Edin Dzeko left in frustration.
Speaking to Skysport Italia after the game, Andre Onana appeared to have downplayed the faceoff with Dzeko, attributing it to uncontrolled adrenaline that also motivates the team and the players to win games.
The team secured a significant advantage going into the second leg in Portugal, so he continued, adding that the victory over Porto was the most significant.
