After the thrilling Europa League match against Manchester United, Barcelona star Raphinha injures himself strangely by kicking a FRIDGE.
Raphinha, a Brazilian winger, scored a brilliant equalizer to pull Barca even and secure a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Camp Nou, which was a thrilling match.
His goal set up a tantalizing second leg at Old Trafford, but he was unable to motivate his team once more as United won 2-1 thanks to goals from Fred and Antony.
Raphinha was acquired by Barcelona for £55 million from Leeds United in the summer, but his first campaign at Camp Nou hasn't been without its challenges. Despite playing in 34 games this season, where he has seven goals and nine assists, he is far from a lock to start given that he has made 14 bench appearances.
The 26-year-old has occasionally lost control this season, which is what happened toward the end of the first leg against United.
Even though Raphinha was the best player for the home team six minutes after scoring the crucial equalizer, manager Xavi substituted Raphinha.
When Raphinha was replaced after scoring for Barcelona, he lost his cool.
The Brazilian was seen on camera punching a seat in the dugout, and, according to Mundo Deportivo, he also kicked out at a refrigerator containing water for the players.
Raphinha reportedly hurt his knee as a result of the outburst, which he quickly regretted. He didn't start Barca's subsequent game, a 2-0 La Liga victory over Cadiz, but he did make his way back into the starting lineup for the return leg at Old Trafford.
Xavi did introduce him to the action at halftime in this weekend's 1-0 loss at Almeria, but he was then left out of the lineup once more.
Raphinha probably wouldn't be wise to kick any more refrigerators this season, regardless of whether the injury or his negative attitude is to blame for his recent benching.
