Chelsea coach Graham Potter has opened up on his decision to exclude Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from his Champions League team.
The 33-year-old striker was left out of the Blues squad for the European club competition knock out stage.
Reportminds Blog understands that Chelsea needed to create room for new January signing, Enzo Fernandez who joined from Benfica.
It was learnt that Potter also included Joao Felix who joined on loan from Atlético Madrid due to the exit of Jorginho to Arsenal.
The omission of Aubameyang from the UCL squad came as a shock to many despite the striker struggling to score goals at the moment.
Speaking after Chelsea's draw with Fulham, Potter said that the player did nothing wrong.
If you recall that Chelsea were held to a goalless draw against Fulham at the Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
Adding to the statement, Chelsea boss said that Aubameyang will fight for his place in the team until the end of the season.
He added: “It’s just unfortunate and Aubameyang will fight for his place until the rest of the season”.
Meanwhile, Aubameyang was pictured in Milano on Friday night while Chelsea were playing Fulham.
The former Arsenal striker flew his family abroad for holiday after being left out of Chelsea's Champions League squad.
