IGP orders restriction of movement on election days
Usman Baba Alkali, the Inspector-General of Police, has mandated that all movements be restricted on election days between the hours of 12 pm and 6 pm.

This is happening just 48 hours before the start of the first round of the 2023 General Elections, the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, which are set to take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, throughout the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and all States of the Federation.

With the exception of those providing essential services like INEC officials, electoral observers, ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, etc., the restriction applies to vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation.
