Erling Haaland was reportedly injured and had to be substituted during Manchester City's match against Aston Villa.

The Citizens' match against Arsenal at the Emirates is just a few days away.

On Saturday, Arsenal lost another point by controversially drawing 1-1 with Brentford.

City now had the opportunity to reduce the deficit to three points. And they appear ready to fully capitalize on it, scoring three goals before halftime to completely destroy the Villans.

However, not everything went City's way. Emi Martinez and Haaland once engaged in combat. Also intriguing was the fact that the Norwegian was not used again in the Etihad Stadium's second half.

Undoubtedly, it is too early to predict whether Haaland will be absent on Wednesday. Given that he has scored the most goals in the division by a wide margin this season, City had no need to gamble on him.

Arsenal's chances of avoiding Haaland on Wednesday would undoubtedly improve. The Gunners struggled mightily on Saturday against Ivan Toney. Therefore, there would have unavoidably been worries about going up against the former Borussia Dortmund star.
