Manchester City sends message to fans after they dropped points against Nottingham Forest

Manchester City were held to 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City ground on Saturday. 

Prior to the kick off, Pep Guardiola's side moved top of the Premier League table with better goal difference ahead of Arsenal. 

City recorded 3-1 win over Mikel Arteta Gunners in the mid week at the Emirates Stadium. 

Guardiola and his players were high in confidence ahead of Forest, with Bernardo Silva scoring the opening goal. 

But Forest snatched a point all thanks to substitute Chris Wood who tapped into the net from a cross by Brandon Johnson.

The result means that City have dropped back into second place with 52 points with a game more than Arsenal who moved back to the top. 

City have sent a message to their fans who travel to watch the game. The tweet reads: "Thanks to all of our travelling fans for your amazing support as always, wishing you a safe journey home" 

Up next, Manchester City will travel to Vitality stadium to face Bourne mouth next week Saturday. 

If you recall that Gunners came from behind twice in the Premier League game against Aston Villa.

Earlier in the day, Arsenal recorded 4-2 win over Villa after Gabriel Martinelli and own goal from Emiliano Martinez sealed the win. 

Villa had taken the lead from Ollie Watkins but Saka left foot volley made it 1-1.

Just before half time, Coutinho scored the second to give Villa the lead with a fine finish from close range.

Arsenal were able to draw back from Oleksandr Zinchenko left foot shot before Jorginho 90th minutes shot hit the head of Martinez and fell into the net.
