After receiving treatment for an ankle problem during the Gunners' match against Aston Villa, Bukayo Saka's condition has been updated by Mikel Arteta.
During the Premier League match between Arsenal and Aston Villa, Bukayo Saka sustains an injury.
When Bukayo Saka went to the ground off the ball in Arsenal's Premier League match against Aston Villa just after halftime, Mikel Arteta undoubtedly experienced some serious concern. He was visibly in great pain as he held his ankle, and Arsenal physios sprinted over to help.
Saka was knocked to the ground by Alex Moreno after receiving a nasty kick to the lower part of his leg. This was the main cause of his problem for the majority of the game. At the time, he was able to shake it off, but later on in the game, it started to bother him and he needed medical attention.
Gabriel Martinelli was seen preparing to take his place, but the physios told him to stay on the bench because Saka's ankle was heavily taped up.
In order to determine if one of his most crucial players could continue, Arteta would have undoubtedly kept a close eye on him for the next few minutes. The 21-year-old unexpectedly played out the rest of the game despite it appearing inevitable that he would have to leave.
Saka's constant fouling in England's World Cup quarterfinal matchup against France has now amply demonstrated to all football fans just how often he is kicked. The winger was fouled three times at Villa Park, and after a tough challenge from Phillipe Coutinho, players from both teams got into a minor altercation.
After the game, when anxiety among Arsenal supporters was at an all-time high, Arteta immediately provided an update on Saka, which was undoubtedly welcomed news.
"He’s fine," said Arteta. "He got kicked quite a lot today again. But he’s going to have to deal with that, not every week, but every three days and sometimes in training as well because it’s his game and teams are not stupid and they want to stop him. That’s why we need to protect him."
