The protesters criticized INEC for not keeping its promise to use the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) to transmit the election results.

The electoral body promised that the collected results from polling stations would be immediately uploaded to its central server, iRev, for quick collation prior to the elections. But it was said that the BVAS didn't work right during the election and that the results were made by hand. Consequently, numerous individuals are questioning the validity of the electoral group's results.

The protesters pleaded with the INEC chairman to keep his promise to hold an open and transparent election.
