One way for Gabriel Jesus to return to Arsenal starting XI after injury

Frank McAvennie, a former West Ham United striker, advised Gabriel Jesus that after making a full recovery, the only way to get back into Arsenal's starting lineup was to fight for his spot.

The Brazilian was a regular in Mikel Arteta's starting lineup prior to his extended injury layoff, but McAvennie has now warned him not to anticipate joining the first team upon his long-term injury recovery.

He asserts that Eddie Nketiah, who has performed admirably in his absence, will have to contend with the former Manchester City attacker for his position.

Reportminds Blog understands that Gabriel Jesus is recovering from surgery after sustaining ligament damage at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Mikel Arteta's team has carried on as normal and has barely noticed the striker's absence all thanks to the form of Eddie Nketiah infront of goal.

“I do not think they have missed him. Nketiah is scoring goals and you can see Arteta was able to bring that out of him.

“Jesus coming back is a competition now. Arsenal changed as soon as him and [Oleksandr] Zinchenko came from Man City,” he told Football Insider.
